I launched Maes Consulting, Inc. as a Virtual Assistance practice in 2005. As a Virtual Assistant I work with a select few clients that I consider fabulous business owners and people. I thoroughly enjoy every minute spent working with my clients.
In addition to working directly with clients as their VA, I also teach and consult about Virtual Assistance. I truly believe that sharing what I know about Virtual Assistance can change lives. Operating my own business from home changed my life and it could very well change yours too. I have written a book explaining Virtual Assistance titled: Exploring A Career As A Virtual Assistant, which you can obtain via my Products page or on Amazon. If you would like to read an excerpt from the book, click HERE.
I also teach classes about exploring and planning for a Virtual Assistance career. You can work with me online as well as live and in person. My latest teaching tool is a home study program titled: Launch Your Virtual Assistant Business In 30 Days (OR LESS!) which helps aspiring VAs plan properly so they may create a sustainable business. To date, hundreds of people have attended my classes and/or read my teachings. Learn all about this program by clicking HERE. I'm thrilled to report that several students are now growing their own successful VA practices. You can find updates about class and workshop dates in the Events section of this site and by signing up for my complimentary online newsletter in the right corner of this page.
I also consult with business owners and colleges on how Virtual Assistance can help them. Business owners often know the "what" (that they need a VA) but they are unsure of the "how" (where to connect with their ideal VA). Utilizing my experience as a VA AND a business owner (not to mention I have a VA that assists ME to run my business) I am able to help business owners move forward with connecting with a great VA for their needs.
Colleges are always looking for ways to enhance the programs and services that they can offer their students. Now more than ever people are turning or returning to school for job training or retraining. Traditional 2 year degree programs in Administrative Assistance can benefit immediately from adding Virtual Assistance classes to their existing curriculum. Graduates have additional job options as they contemplate launching a VA business and business owners have the benefit of graduates that are trained for the traditional administrative business model as well as aspiring VAs. I help colleges understand the virtual business model (because it IS different!) and I can assist with curriculum development.
It's my sincere hope that everyone eventually figures out what gives them personal and professional satisfaction in life. Sharing information about Virtual Assistance is my small gift to the world. If you are interested in learning more, I hope you will join me on the journey!
I live in Madison, WI with my husband and son. In my free time I enjoy knitting, reading, traveling and social networking.
